May 25 – Ella turned 3 months old today! When Mommy and Daddy weighed her today, Ella weighed 11 pounds, 7 ounces.
May 29 – In Sacramento, Ella saw her first river when we went to the Jazz Festival with Grandma and Grandad Beghin and Uncle Jimmy. She also slept nearly 3 hours in a room blasting with jazz music! Another first today was when Ella faced outward in her carrier while walking around Old Sac.
June 1 – Ella went into an exersaucer for the first time! At Papa and Grammy’s house, we put Ella into Grammy’s Baby Einstein exersaucer. Although the box says to wait until baby is 4 months, Grammy remembered that her pediatrician said that 3 months is fine if baby has good head and trunk control. So we decided to try it. Ella loved it! She was able to push the buttons to hear animal noises and songs, spin the spinning wheels, and even swivel around to look at different toys. She had a blast!
June 2 – Ella went to her first graduation as we watched her Uncle Chip graduate from High School. She did very well, and waited to get antsy until after Chip’s name was called.
June 4 – Although Mommy has heard Ella giggle a few times before this, today Ella did something that she had not heard before! Today was Ella’s first full on laughing fit. Auntie Kimberly was blowing raspberries at Ella, and she thought it was the funniest thing! We were even lucky enough to get it on video! Ella continued to laugh this way all week, mostly when she heard some sort of “funny” noise.
June 9 – Watch out puppies! Ella reached out to touch Simba for the first time. She even got a hold of his ear!
June 11 – Grandma and Grandad Beghin visited Ella and she began to really play with her hands. Ella couldn’t stop stuffing her hands in her mouth, and playing with her ears and knees.
June 16 – Ella discovered
her feet! She now loves to play with her toes, and she even sticks them into
her mouth.
June 17 – This was
Day 1 of our family’s June Vacation where we went to Southern California for a
fun time with the Hubert family and her Uncle Jimmy.
June 18 – Ella met
her Tennessee cousins for the first time at her cousin Teddy’s graduation party
in Orange County.
June 19 – Ella attended
her very first baseball game. On the way there, we discovered that Ella doesn’t
like riding in the car anymore!!! In this particular game, there wasn’t much
action, but at least the Dodgers won 1-0. We also celebrated our family’s first
Father’s Day. Ella got Daddy some nice gifts, including a picture frame, and a
book to read together.
June 20 – Ella went
to Knott’s Berry Farm for the first time. She spent much of her time with her
Papa, who couldn’t go on any of the “fast” rides. Ella was able to go on the
Calico Mine ride and the trucks in Camp Snoopy. She also loved watching the Snoopy ice skating show.
June 21 – Ella went
swimming for the first time! Despite the water being cold (at least for Mommy),
Ella seemed to love the water! After checking it out at first, she couldn’t
stop smiling once she realized that swimming was fun!
June 22 – Ella got
to go on the brand new Little Mermaid ride at Disney’s California Adventures
for the first time. She seemed to enjoy it, since she didn’t take her eyes off
of the characters the whole time.
June 23 – Ella
almost got to ride the Monorail for the first time today, but the line was too
long. Oh well! Ella spent most of the day hanging out with Papa while everyone
else went on the “big kid rides,” including the new way-cool Star Tours ride.
June 24 – We knew
Ella liked the Winnie the Pooh ride, but today was a record as she went on it 3
times. She even got to go on it with her friend, Mason. Ella also got to ride
on the teacups for the first time. Mommy and Daddy didn’t spin their teacup. Snow
White’s ride was also another first for Ella.
