October 25th - Mommy made Ella her own special piggy bank for her 8 month birthday!
October 31st - Happy Halloween! Ella had her first Halloween, and she dressed up as a little duck. At day care, Ella was in a Halloween "parade." In the evening, we went to the mall where children were trick or treating. Ella was asleep most of the time while Mommy and Daddy went shopping.
November 2nd - Ella had her first "real" food when she ate some Graduate puffs. Although she could pick the pieces up, Ella couldn't put them into her mouth. They kept sticking to her fingers, so Mommy had to feed them to her!
November 4th - Ella was able to successfully feed herself a few pieces of the Graduate puffs. Many of them still ended up on the floor and in her lap!
November 7th - Ella went to the doctor's office for her 8 month check-up. She weighed 17 pounds, 1 ounce (27th percentile), and she was 27.5 inches long (62nd percentile).
November 11th - 12th - Ella went to Disneyland with Mommy, Daddy, Auntie Lindsay, Papa, and Grandma for Veteran's Day. Some firsts were sitting up like a big girl on Snow White and Little Mermaid, rockets with Daddy, and Astro Blasters. A fun surprise was that Ella got to see her cousin Kolton, and her Great Uncle Kevin and Great Aunt Sheryl at Disneyland.
November 19th - Ella has been standing on her own for up to 5 seconds the past few days. She also has discovered how to make this trilling noise, which she now likes to do a lot!
November 20th - Ella went to the Sears Portrait Studios to take her Christmas photos. We had a harder time getting good photos of her since she was moving around so much and since we woke her up early from her nap!
November 22nd - Ella had her first non-cold sickness. She woke up early in the morning with a 102.4 fever and chest congestion, which continued into the next day. Ella got some medicine to help her get better. Despite her illness, Ella was in a fairly good mood, but she did sleep A LOT more than usual!
November 23rd - We have noticed that Ella is starting to wave "hi" and "bye" to people. Daddy thinks she has been doing this for awhile, but it is definitely now more consistent and deliberate than before.
November 24th - Happy Thanksgiving! Ella had her very first Thanksgiving. She got to spend it with her Grandad and Grandma Beghin and Uncle Jimmy in San Jose where Daddy made the Thanksgiving feast for the first time! He did a fabulous job!!
